ISRO MOM

SPACED OUT PRINT SERIES
This series takes inspiration from India’s recent propulsion into the frontier of the space-race as a starting point to explore the concept of space and a world on the brink of interstellar migration.
On September 24th, 2014, ISRO launched its first interplanetary mission - MARS ORBITER MISSION (MOM) – also known as Mangalyaan – to map the surface of the Red Planet and test technologies needed for future Indian space missions. This made India only the 4thspace agency to reach mars.
This work is a play on how the media covered the mission. The phrase, “MOM SUCCESSFULLY ENTERS MARTIAN ORBIT” is taken from a direct press quote made in 2014.
