Sibling duo Harsha and Shruti Biswajit were brought up in Madras by artistically inclined parents. Their father, a cartoonist and illustrator, and their mother, a painter and sculptor who owns an art gallery, raised them in a creatively stimulating environment. With the skills that they acquired early on, it was imperative they established their own individual identities. Harsha ventured out to explore the field of visual art and further moved to New York to pursue a masters from SVA in Digital Fine Arts. Shruti on the other hand, went on to study Fashion Design from FIT and then specialised in sportswear with a degree from Politecnico Di Milano

Indian fashion has long been associated with intricate craftsmanship, ornate embellishment, and rich textiles. Indeed, the country’s booming bridal market speaks to that enduring tradition. And yet there is a new wave of street-minded labels championing a distinctly minimalist aesthetic; among them is the gender-neutral fashion label Biskit.

In collaboration with an Indian clothing brand, the synthpop duo has created a mini collection with a focus on quality and design details rather than big logos - SOUNDVENUE ARTICLE

Although it was the Biswajit siblings who reached out to Gents and asked if they should do a collaboration, Niels and Theis have long talked about the fact that they would like to try to make some merchandise that was of extra good quality. They just hadn't known how to approach such a production.

Together with BISKIT, it suddenly became possible to make trousers, t-shirts and jumpers with a focus on both quality and some additional design details such as pockets, dropped-shoulder fit and longer t-shirt sleeves.

Smashing the generic narrative surrounding genderless clothing through an extraordinary visual expression, BISKIT is an experimental Indian label that is breaking barriers and establishing a unique aesthetic through immaculate designs and a distinctive vision. Established in 2017, BISKIT was born as an experiment that combined the creative abilities of sibling duo, Shruti and Harsha Biswajit. Being born in a multi-talented, artistic household, a creative outlook came at an early age to the siblings, which has now transcended into the way they approach their work.
